About the conference
At the UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP27), countries come together to act towards achieving the world’s collective climate goals as agreed upon under the Paris Agreement and the Convention. Building on the outcomes and momentum of COP26 in Glasgow last year, nations are expected to demonstrate at COP27 that they are in a new era of implementation by turning their commitments under the Paris Agreement into action.
The conference will take place from 6 – 18 November 2022 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.
Goals and Vision
The vision of Egypt's COP27 presidency is to delivery inclusive, rules-based and ambitious, substantive outcomes commensurate with the challenge based on science and guided by principles building on agreements, decisions, pledges and commitments from RIO 1992 to Glasgow 2021.
The COP27 presidency seeks to accelerate global climate action through emissions reduction, scaled-up adaptation efforts and enhanced flows of appropriate finance, recognising that “just transition” remains a priority for developing countries worldwide.

Climate Action Announcement Tracking
The Global Climate Action Portal (GCAP) is tracking announcements and initiatives associated with Climate Action activities taking place at COP27 – encompassing the programmes of the COP27 Presidency, the High-Level Champions and the Marrakech Partnership.
As well as providing a publicly accessible repository for the climate action announcements made during the conference, GCAP will track their progress in the lead up to COP28 and beyond through integration with the Portal’s actor tracking and initiative tracking components.
The information, which will be updated throughout the conference, can be navigated using a search function and thematic filters, which combine the focus areas of the COP27 Thematic Days and Marrakech Partnership thematic areas.
